View from the top of my grandparents' street.
View of Rio Yaque from one end of my cousin's farm.
As you can imagine I have had a tough time getting back to my regular life... not to mention how behind I am on EVERYTHING! AH! Bear with me people. I finally sat behind my (recently serviced-yay!) sewing machine today and look what I put together....
Drunkard's Path blocks!
Don't look so sad! Those curved seams aren't as difficult as you think (or have heard) they are. Would you believe me if I told you I didn't even use one pin to sew these blocks?! Well, I didn't! Do you see how nice and flat that curved seam is laying?! Yea... I did that...and without using a single pin! I surprised myself too! If you are wondering how I did it... stay tuned. I'm working on a tutorial and it's accompanied by your favorite.....a GIVEAWAY!

Welcome back! What fun for you to be able to show off your home and family!
ReplyDeleteI am completely impressed by the curve stitching with no pins. Can't wait to see how ya did it.
That is cool that you did that without using a single pin! If I knew how, I might have courage to try.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures. It's wonderful that you were able to share your roots with your husband and your child.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the tutorial. I can't imagine making a Drunkard's Path block without a single pin.
Welcome home! Your grandfather's village remind me so much of where I grew up; plantation villeges. Single wall houses built in the late 20's, corrugated roofs [that "sang" when it rained. I loved it. I can hardly wait for your tutorial.
